Our loyal customer in interpretation in Almaty has requested that we provide medical interpreter English to Russian and vice versa.
This event – the presentation of the new medication – took place in two cities – Almaty and Astana. As a matter of course, the team BG deployed our medical interpreter, a physician to fulfill this pleasant mission.
The workshop was on neuropathic pain and its treatment. A world-renown professor from Turkey was invited to talk about the new medication. He spoke about his experience in the treatment of neuropathic pain and application of a very effective drug.
The audience listened very attentively to the lecturer, the students asked a lot of questions.
Language translation this time took the form of consecutive interpreting from English into Russian and vice versa.
With regard to consecutive interpretation, it is often said this format of interpretation is easier than simultenaous interpretation. This iis true, but to a certain extent. To the extent that the translator has not learned how to do simultaneous interpretation.
If you ask current interpreters what kind of interpretation is more complicated, you can often hear the response consecutive one. Often they attribute this to the need to memorize words and sentences as long as the speaker continues to deliver his/her speech. And often the speaker tends to forget there is an interpreter who needs to remember what was said and convey the message in another language. On the other hand, during conference interpreting or simulteneous interpreting one does not to do that, the interpreter only translates phrase by phrase.
It appears if the current interpreters think so, there must be something to it.
So the medical translator provided by the translation agency BG in Astana and Almaty did his job with flying colors!
If you happen to need a highly qualified medical interpreter, we will be more that happy to assist you.
Just give us a call.

Translators of Kazakhstan gathered in Astana to do simultaneous translation at the 27th Congress of the World Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons 2017.
September the 1-3, 2017 was marked by a historic event in the Kazakhstan’s medical community. The 27th Congress of the World Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons (WSCTS) was carried out in Astana, Kazakhstan.
BG team did not stand aside and provided this event with high-quality simultaneous interpreting services.
The BG made up a team of the strongest spoken translators English-Russian and Russian-English in Kazakhstan, including medical spoken translators.
Simultaneous interpretation was provided by our translators in the following five main sections:
This event was the largest for our company, since it was not an easy job to build a team of 16 simultaneous interpreters/conference interpreters in Kazakhstan at a single event and thoroughly coordinate their work. Nevertheless, the team BG has coped with its task with flying colors.
We have also come up a team of 4 people to ensure the smooth work of our interpreters at the Congress.
We called them assistants. Throughout the event, the assistants provided technical support to the spoken translators. They collected presentations of speakers for preliminary familiarization by translators immediately before the presentation delivery, checked serviceability of the equipment, availability of all the necessary translators in a booth, among other things.
The Congress of cardiovascular and thoracic surgeons was carried out at the highest level. The BG team was pleased to be part of this monumental event in Kazakhstan.
Our spoken translators in Astana successfully rendered quality translation services during JCI accreditation of the National Children’s Rehabilitation Center.
The accreditation took place between 7th and 10th August 2017. During the survey our lovely interpreters Sofiya and Eric accompanied their respective surveyors and helped ensure effective communication between the latter and the Center staff. The purpose of the survey was to determine to which extent the Center is compliant to the Joint Commission International standards – the standards for healthcare organizations across the globe to ensure quality care and patient safety.
Sofiya followed Dr. Nathan from the USA who mainly focused on facility safety standards. On their way around the Center facility Sofiya despite her femininity got easily on the roof of a building to see if the standards are followed there 🙂 Who knew how far this would take Sofiya! But she came prepared 😉
In the meantime, Eric followed Dr. Anna Miranda from Brazil and was mainly involved doing clinical standards.
What an amazing week! Not just for the Center staff and surveyors, but also the interpreters.
BTW, the National Children’s Rehabilitation Center passed the accreditation with ease. This was the Center’s second accreditation. The first one was back in 2014. Once again the Center proved to earn the title of the only JCI accredited children’s rehab centers in Central Asia.
We – the BG team – would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Center’s team and leadership with another victory. Way to go!
